Supervised Exclusion and DAS Officer (Non- teaching)

Grade 4 (£20,333 to £26,317) depending on experience and pro-rata

37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Permanent position, subject to probationary period

Required from: September 2019

The Supervised Exclusion and DAS (Detention After School) Officer will manage students placed in supervision exclusion following removal from main stream education, for short term fixed periods of time. This is a key role within the pastoral structure of our school and is essential in establishing the purposeful and disciplined environment in which Stowmarket students shine.

The successful candidate report directly to the Assistant Headteacher in charge of pastoral/behaviour.

The Supervised Exclusion and DAS Officer position requires someone who is robust and rigorous but caring and sensitive to the needs of the individual and who believes in the importance of paying attention to detail. The position is demanding but rewarding, and requires someone who can multi-task and prioritise demands.

Level 3 qualifications and GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) are essential. Experience of working with secondary age students is desirable.


Stowmarket High School is situated in picturesque mid Suffolk with excellent commuter links to Cambridge, Ipswich and Norwich.  We are an inclusive 11 – 18 Academy and part of Waveney Valley Academies Trust.  We are currently in the throes of having a new school built on our current site and plan to move in to our new state of the art school in 2020.
