We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 students in this year’s GCSEs. Across the cohort of 178 pupils, their commitment, determination and resilience have been exceptional, and it is a privilege to see their hard work rewarded. These outcomes reflect not only academic success but also the personal growth, confidence and ambition our students have demonstrated during their time at Stowmarket High School.
We are equally proud of the tireless efforts of our dedicated staff, whose high expectations and unwavering support have enabled students to flourish. The encouragement of families and the wider community have also been invaluable in creating the conditions for success. These results are a true team effort, and it is an honour to celebrate them together as a school community. As Headteacher, I could not be prouder of what our young people have achieved.
There are many individual successes to highlight, including those of students with SEND and others who have overcome significant barriers to learning.
Among the highest performers this year, was Martha Hardcastle who achieved the top grades in every subject. Martha commented ” I’m very grateful for all the opportunities Stowmarket High has given me over the last five years, particularly the sports and extra-curricular trips. I’ll always remember the hard work and dedication of the teachers and the amazing encouragement particularly in science and English. Next year I am going on to study A-Levels in Biology, Government and Politics, English Literature and Art History. Ultimately, I hope to study for a degree at university or pursue a degree apprenticeship.”
Additionally, Esmee Howell secured five subjects at grade 8 or above, including both English Language and English Literature, and Balian Bevan who attained all subjects at grade 6 or above with six subjects at grades 7–9. (Pictured below)
We wish every student the very best as they take their next steps in life and learning.
